Last day of July greetings all! Hard to believe but 'tis true.

Great read today.

BEGINNING WITH:

LESLIE ELMAN'S POP QUIZ + FASCINATING FACTS
I sure didn't know, but now I (we) do.

QUICK QUESTION
3 favorite dog names.
I'm thinking most unusual/memorable I've come across:
Stanley, who worked with us at Hippie Cowboy, had a pit bull named "Convict."
One of the Grips we worked with on "Breaking Bad" had a rescue dog named "Chicken".
A delightful wiggle-tail happy, well-behaved pal of everyone on Set. And there was nothing chicken about him.
And Peter's beloved childhood dog went by the name "Shorty."
I have a pic of Shorty that Peter treasured. Shorty was adorably not adorably attractive. HA!
Looking at the pic anyone can spot the sparkle of mischief/character/personality in his eyes + the stories Peter loved to tell.
You?

BILLY'S MISSION STORY
Is a heart stealer - grab a kleenex.
Once you read it -- likely -- won't forget it.
Beautiful.

ASSEMBLING LOADED AVOCADO TOAST

Hump day greetings this last Wednesday of May 2024 -

Shoot! May rolled in, kissed us with all its beauty, and is about to roll out for the year and June will be joining us super soon. Time marches on for sure.

Cool line-up of interestings and laughs today:

Beginning with -

LESLIE ELMAN'S TRIVIA
I actually guessed the correct answer to question #3 of Pop Quiz. Edelweiss!
BOOM! -- I LOVE the movie "Sound of Music" and the soundtrack and I remember in the movie the dad (actor Christopher Plummer) sang the song Edelweiss. I had to do the YouTube look up thing and listen to it for memory lane purposes and here's the link so you, too, can revisit the beautiful song from the incredible "Sound of Music" movie here it is * Edelweiss - Sound of Music *

QUICK QUESTION
What always cheers me up when I think about it - hmmm - many things - I can't put my favorite on just one! You?

GENERAL TABLE MANNERS
My mom and grandparents totally taught these lessons to us as kids - and - it was great to read and be reminded of all. Refresher course sort of thing!
And I passed them along to my son, Hunter, - little stinker - didn't act like he was listening all the way when he was young. But he was because he knows proper etiquette table manners + kindness ways to move in life as an adult. Success!

EASY CRUNCHY ASIAN SLAW
Is a must, must, must make. So good and so versatile and I'd be surprised if it doesn't become one of your favorite recipes you make on repeat -- and know it by heart! (As in how we used to know many peoples' phone numbers by heart - back in the day - before our little phones replaced our memorization skills. ha)

Hello Wednesday and Hello Daymakers!

Presenting Wednesday Reader this fine day of May 8.

Pretty sure you'll love the read today as much as I do/did putting it together:

LESLIE ELMAN'S TRIVIA
Is so fascinating and I always feel smarter reading her pieces. Whoever heard the word "Kleptoparasite"? Raise your hand if you have. Not me. But I do now and I might pull the word out from time to time just to see people's brows do a brow question mark thing. Ha!

QUICK QUESTION
How many animal sounds can I make? I actually started making the sounds to count and my cats awoke from their catnaps, at full attention, gathering around to see if I'd gone C-R-A-Z-Y. They amuse me and from time to time I try and amuse them.
I counted 8. How about you?

OUTTA THE MOUTHS OF BABES
Is beauty-full. I don't even have a favorite take away. All are heartbeats of awwwwww.

HERB SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE
Is an absolute must make. I'm not even going to go on and on about it. Just gotta trust me. Once you make it - you'll be a diehard fan all summer long! This summer - next summer - and all summers forward! Get ready for people to ask for the recipe because it's gonna happen.

Happy Wednesday greetings, Daymakers!

Super fun line-up of interestings this final Wednesday of February 2024.

Beginning with --

Leslie Elman's Trivia Tidbits. I sure didn't know where the oldest and longest boardwalk in the United States is. As one who strives to walk 3 miles a day - 5 days a week - I'd sure love to put this on my walking bucket list.

Planner or Go-with-the-Flow? I, personally, am a go-with-the-flow gal if I'm on a leisure kind of trip -- unless I'm with a group of people who've established a go-see-do itinerary. Then I'm cool with the whoever has got it all planned out. And I'm in on the plan.

I almost feel sorry for the Burglar Who Couldn't Find His Way Out. Almost. Ha

Epic Breakfast Oatmeal I've been known to also drizzle on a little caramel sauce for a little something extra-extra. Why not? Delish!

Tracy Beckerman's Puffy Face column cracked me up. I'm totally in her tongue-in-cheek humor fan club!

Happy Valentine's Day, friends!

What are your Valentine's Day plans? Any?

I don't have any plans perse. Laying low and building a fire to be mesmerized by as I watch the flames and reflect on so many memories close to my heart.

I totally want to share something super-duper-heart cool ! Went to the mailbox yesterday and inside there was a package.

I opened it - like a kid at Christmas!

It was from my friends Carol and Toby.

Inside was a beautiful original hand painted card by Carol who is a fine watercolor artist whose work is absolutely/always frame worthy. And, yes, I will frame her piece of art and keep it under glass to view every day when I walk by it. I'll feel the love for sure way after Valentine's Day -- forever.

And - also - in the package was a box wrapped all classy-pretty in Valentine's Day paper. Nope, not a box of chocolates. WAY better! A box of 8 Shower Steamers - that read, "Relax and Enjoy Home SPA with Natural Essential Oil." We're talking Eucalyptus Mint, Lavender, Orange, Pomegranate Rose, Mint, Watermelon and Orange. Wow!

Do I feel special, or what? Quick answer - Very Special! I am so grateful for being thought of on Valentine's Day by my dear friends who were also friends of Peter.

Super fun line-up today!

Hi Everyone!

How's the New Year going so far (all of 3 days - ha)? All's well in my world.

Presenting Wednesday Reader on this first Wednesday of 2024.

Lots of fun packed in this episode for reading + thought enjoyment. Beginning with:

POP QUIZ

Reminded me how much I love(d) "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and, yes, the song "Moon River." Totally gonna find + watch + re-visit that classic.

QUICK QUESTION

Best compliment I think I can give to someone -- you matter. Whether spoken or implied. I love it when I hear it or feel it from someone. How about you?

GRAVESIDE SERVICE STORY

Is a funny, for sure.

LIMA BEAN SOUP

What?! Yes! Seriously good, unique, tried-and-true. The magic (as is usually the case with anything involving beans) start with dried beans. And have you ever had a grilled Pimento Cheese + Ham sandwich? No? Now's the time! Yes? Lima Bean Soup and Grilled Cheese Pimento Sandwiches with or without ham are soup mates for sure!
