Greetings on this 2nd to the last Friday of March. So far - March is not "going out like a lamb" ...  just yet.  Temperatures here are diving into the 30s at night.  I feel like it's kinda unusual - but weather - will be weather.  Ha! PICTURE LINE UP #1 HELLO BEAUTIFUL WISTERIA BLOOMING on my arbor over the stairs going into the front yard ...  reminds me of the Lilac bushes that bloom in Montana.  Love (!) Lilac bushes - doing their thing and popping like crazy - and smell like no other!  I miss them.  And, I miss cutting a few of the clusters of blooms on their little branches and placing them in ordinary little glass vases and positioning them around the house.  Ahhh !  Sweet purple memories. No Lilac bushes around these parts.  However, Wisteria and its super brilliant - similar purple color - gifts me with peek-a-boo memories - next best thing! #2 HELLO CUTE DONKEY who came up to the fence line on our walk.  Pretty sure lil' Donkey was checking us out AND to see if we had any treats.  Big fat boo, no treats this time.  But sure will be next time. #3 RUMOR HAS IT ... egg prices are dropping.  Crossing my fingers! #4 THIS TAKE-MY-BREATH-AWAY beautiful red piece of stained glass art was a gift from a friend.  Totally makes a plain ol' window in a room become the star attraction!  Thanks, Johnny, for this vibrant piece. DEAR ANNIE'S column is a great read.  A little sad - but talk about strength!  And inspiring.   And at the end - there is a "rainbow." Four leaf clover greetings! PICTURE LINE UP #1 Parker and Maddie decorating "Leprechaun traps."  Good Luck kiddos! #2 Attended and totally enjoyed the 18th annual Bastrop Empty Bowl fund raiser.  Such a cool idea and event. Here's a little piece about it: "The popular Bastrop Empty Bowl provides attendees an opportunity to sample soups, stews and chilies by Bastrop's best chefs in a 'battle of the ladles' for bragging rights.   ... each ticketed attendee will also take home a ceramic soup bowl, hand-decorated and designed by Bastrop ISD students and members of the community." I chose the bowl in the lower right hand corner that looks like it has a red hand with a big green band across it.  All the soups I tasted were fantastic.  Top 2 favorites were  - Jalapeno Popper Soup + Broccoli Cheese smoked Brisket soup.   Yeah! #3 I was invited to and attended the Premier screening of DEADLAND.  (click DEADLAND to see trailer)  SXSW 2023 in Austin.  It showed at the Paramount in Austin which is an old, beautiful, ornate classic theater. Longtime friends from the business brought this production to life. And it's a great show!  Really good.  I was totally impressed.  Keep your radar up for when it comes out at a theater near you.  And go see it. The picture above is after the screening when Cast + DP + Director + Producers came out on stage and told some behind-the-scenes stories and how they personally contributed to the value and art of the film.  And it was shot on film!  Old school beautiful. Greetings friends! I see dandelions popping up everywhere!  Pretty bright yellow.  Yes! Weeds?  Depends on each of our personal definition of "weeds." In their defense they do turn into those cool little, round, puffy, light as air things that I remember plucking as a kid, closing my eyes, making a wish and blowing. Pretty sure some of my wishes have come through. PICTURE LINE UP: #1 As Spring approaches swiftly - if you have outdoor furniture or yard art that needs a fresh coat of color - I highly recommend Montana.Cans.  Beautiful choices to tickle your artistic fancy.  I originally discovered this professional spray paint product at a local Michael's craft store then went online and ordered more.  Just couldn't get enough of their beautiful offerings of color!  Check them out - super cool. #2 Hello! new Finder's Keepers piece.   I came across this discarded gem on my walk yesterday.  It has a new permanent home with me!  Will be placing it in my outdoor Finder's Keepers wreath.  Named it Little dude with a big heart in a tea cup! #3 Message in a women's restroom ... #4 Another message in a women's restroom ... Dear Annie - Grandma seeks guidance regarding a grandson who keeps asking and asking for $. The Wowza breakfast sandwich is - well, Wowza! PICTURE LINE UP #1 This picture of morning  - looking out to my backyard - reminds me of the Cat Steven's song, "Morning has Broken" #2 My mom captured some Shadow Play on her garden fence #3 Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, Bastrop, Texas.  Traveled down to Bastrop to hang out with my friend who treated us to dinner at Guadalajara's. Report Card:  Atmosphere - A+ Staff - Hustle - Attentiveness - Genuine Friendliness - A+ Salsa - A+ (and I consider myself a salsa snob - ha) Housemade Flour Tortillas - A+ Chile Rellenos - A+ (and I am a Chile Relleno freak!) Margaritas - A+ #4 These 3 (!) for making brisket in a slow cooker on the counter that tastes like you (or a very seasoned grill master someone) slow smoked it for hours.  My absolute new favorite way to make brisket.  Recipe is included in this episode!
